Hello from Memphis, site of our upcoming GT-48! The weather is growing warmer and the azalea bushes are in bloom! Speaking of bloom, the GT-48 development is in full bloom! The indoor tech sessions include John Twist and the “MGA Guru” Barney Gaylord. There is a “non – automotive” session planned for the ladies. Outdoors finds John Twist performing his famous drive thru tech session for a full day. 

MG owner’s favorite vendors are returning and are offering those much needed parts for our LBC’s. Additionally both GT and NAMGAR regalia is available.  Place your order on the registration form for GT 48 items that are uniquely designed for this year’s show. 

 Optional tours are filling up fast. A large crowd is participating in the home tour of Elvis at Graceland, sponsored by Hagerty followed by our first optional driving event to Beale Street with a special welcome and parking for MG’s. The “Back Beat” bus tour includes a local musician who performs as he informs participants on the unique sites of Memphis. Only a few seats are left!  

Additional driving excursions include a Poker Run through the surrounding country side with a chance to win a prize for the person with best poker hand.  Another drive is to the well-known St. Jude children’s hospital for a potential photo opportunity followed by a quick drive to the Bass Pro Pyramid and then through the downtown area and dinner at Central BBQ known for Memphis style pulled pork. 

Car show! Let us not forget the actual car show sponsored by the Edge Motor Museum. The show will be held on the closed off streets in front of the museum that is offering free admission. Many restaurants/food trucks and even a brewery are located nearby. Every registrant will receive two $6 vouchers to the famous SUN Studio located only 100 yards from the show site!  

Hospitality is abounding in the south and the hospitality committee has plenty of it. They planned a delicious banquet that includes dancing to the award winning band “The Royal Blues Band” featuring Jack Rowell.  Look for the personnel with the white badges   for any assistance that you may need.

 As show time nears, it is imperative that participants register ASAP. The optional tours are filling quickly and hotel room specials are soon expiring.
