Getting it Straight

Thanks to Bernie Evans who reports, “At the request of the Club Officers in the early 1990’s, a new MG3 logo was developed by Dale Jensen – a long term member that passed away many years ago.  Dale was a graphic designer and Club members were all pleased with Dale’s design. Dale informed us that those dots are to be placed level when mounting a grill badge or attaching a patch or pin, making a tee shirt, sweatshirt and so on.  Dale stated that this was intentional in his design as the club was not stationary, but was ‘rising’ in its growth, ideas and preservation of MGs. “

So – when bolting, ironing or pinning any of the above regalia, please respect the original designer of our logo’s original intention and keep those dots level as per the blue line on the image below.

A tip for ironing on patches. The patches are quite thick so the heat transfer to the hot-melt adhesive can be quite slow. To get maximum adhesion and minimize the risk of scorching your new and rather beautiful patch, after applying enough heat to the front to secure it in the chosen position, try finishing the process by ironing from the inside of the garment, which in most cases will be thinner than the patch.
